Student-Centered Learning

Cited: teaching.cscc.edu

This week’s reading materials really caught my attention.  I always felt alone on my campus regarding  my theory and vision on education. It was really refreshing to see that many people around the world not only have that vision, but they are implementing those same theories. The quote that stood out for me,  “Ongoing assessment allows us to measure not only a student's performance at one point in time, but also the evolution of that learning and the contributing factors.”  I am a STRONG believe in Accessibility through Universal Design Learning.  You cannot gain insight from an end-of-unit test on the student’s learning processes.  I am not a frequent flyer of traditional formal assessments either.  Once the United States start to truly use UDL, our educational status will once again be one top.
