My mulitimedia and
video technology course was definitely educational. I was able to
demonstrate the principles of multimedia planning, designing, producing,
editing, and evaluating. I was exposed to Audacity and iMovie audio and
video software. Audacity is a program that
manipulates digital audio waveforms. In addition to recording sounds directly
from within the program, it imports many sound file formats, including WAV, AIFF, MP3, and Ogg Vorbis. PCM
formats of 8,16,24 and 32-bits can be imported and exported. (Audacity, 2009) Imovie is a video editing software
application.
My
group and I were able to go through the stages of creating a digital
video using iMovie. We found iMovie to be user-friendly. We used an
iPhone to shoot, and capture our video.
It was originally
recorded in AUP and because the majority of group members were unable to
hear the audio, we changed the file to WAV, and we were still having
issues, due to the file being to large file. We decided to re-record to the
video using iMovie. Files were exchanged online for group viewing, revising,
and editing. We eliminated background noises, and added titles over video
shots, lighting effects and adjustments to limited shots. The overall
experience was great.Citation: Audacity. (n.d.) Introduction. 1(2). Retrieved April 21, 2009, from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/manual-1.2/intro.html
